Classification of Class 2A Motor Vehicles
  • Motorcycles between 201cc and 400cc
  • The Class 2A riding course is valid for 1 year from the date of enrolment.
  • All student (70 years of age and below) will be insured with a personal accident insurance for a period of one year (non – renewable)
Enrolment Prerequisite
  • To enrol for Class 2A riding course, you must possess a valid Class 2B Qualified Driving Licence for at least one year.
  • Enrol in person or online.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • Must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points under the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS)
  • Must not have any class(es) of Qualified Driving Licence / Provisional Driving Licence under revocation, disqualification or suspension.
Enrolment Documents (In Person)
  • Valid Singapore NRIC/Passport.
  • Valid FIN Card (For Foreigners).
  • Class 2B Qualified Driving Licence.
Online Enrolment
  • Online enrolment is subject to approval after meeting all the prerequisites. Student are required to produce original documents for verification.

Important Note
  • If you have any serious traffic offences pending against you, you are advised not to apply for a licence. This is because if you are eventually disqualified by court from holding or obtaining a driving licence, the disqualification could be for all classes of driving licence including any newly acquired licence.
  • If you have been awarded more than 12 demerit points, or have cases pending against you which will make you liable to be awarded a total of more than 12 demerit points, you will not be allowed to take a theory / practical driving test.
  • New driver who has two cases of not displaying distinguishing mark (triangular sign) against them, whether the cases are concluded or otherwise, will not be allowed to take a theory / practical driving test.

Remarks
  • All fees are inclusive of GST.
  • Off peak – All weekdays slots from 8.00 am to 3.45 pm.
  • Peak – All weekends slots and weekdays slots from 3.55 pm to 9.50 pm.
  • Withdrawal of student account must be made in person and only be allowed upon course graduation or termination.
  • NO REFUND (including vehicle rental fee) for cancellation of Traffic Police test date.
Simulator Lesson
  • The duration of each lesson is about 20 minutes.
  • Lessons are available in English and will be conducted at Level 4 Simulator Room.
  • Booking of simulator lessons can be made online or at our service counters
  • You can start to book your simulator lesson and practical lesson upon enrolment.
  • Please be punctual and if you are late and unable to complete the lesson, you are required to repeat the lesson.
  • Student must complete all 3 modules of simulator lesson.
  • Cancellation of simulator lesson can be made online. It must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time. If your simulator lesson falls on the day after a Public Holiday or SSDC rest day, cancellation must be made at least 72 hours in advance.
  • If you are not feeling well during the simulator lesson, please press the emergency stop button on the simulator and seek assistance from the instructor.
  • Medical certificate will not be accepted for refund or late cancellation of lesson.
  • No refund of fees if you are absent due to medical condition or any reason whatsoever.
  • Pregnant students are required to produce a letter of certification from their Doctor/Gynaecologist stating that they are FIT to attend the simulator lesson. The letter is to be submitted to the instructor before each lesson begins.
Practical Lesson
  • Booking of practical riding lesson can be made over the counter or online.
  • Training is conducted at SSDC Woodlands Circuit and the duration of each practical lesson is 100 minutes.
  • A minimum booking of 3 practical lessons and 3 simulator training are required.
  • Student may have to attend more than the minimum number of required practical lessons for the circuit training if the minimum standard has not been met.
  • On average, a student has to attend 6 sessions of practical lesson to complete the practical training.
  • Student is required to bring along the student training record booklet for every practical lesson.
  • Student must pass the circuit practical assessment, all 3 simulator modules and complete one theory lesson before they are allowed to book the Traffic Police Practical Test.
  • Cancellation of any practical riding lesson appointments can be made online. It must be made at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time. If your practical riding lesson falls on the day after a Public Holiday or SSDC rest day, cancellation must be made at least 96 hours in advance.
  • For any cancellation less than 72 hours prior to lesson start time, student will have the option to put up the slot for try sell and will be able to monitor the try sell status online. If the try sell is successful, the practical lesson will be cancelled and refunded back to the student balance. If the try sell is unsuccessful, student are required to attend the practical riding lesson.
  • Medical certificate will not be accepted for refund or late cancellation of practical riding lesson.

 

Practical Test
  • Student is advised to attend circuit revision practical lesson before their practical test.
  • Student is encouraged to attend the pre-test (Warm Up) practice before the practical test.
  • Student must produce a valid NRIC or Passport, a valid Qualified Driving Licence, student training record booklet and practical test payment receipt when attending the practical test. Foreigners must produce a valid FIN Card.
  • Please be punctual. Late comers will not be allowed to sit for their practical test.
  • Student will be disqualified from the practical test if found to possess more than one practical test date.
  • There will be NO REFUND (inclusive of vehicle rental) for cancellation of practical test date.

Additional Class of Licence

Existing QDL holders do not need to apply for a new QDL when they pass another class of driving test; the Driving Tester will affix an endorsement sticker to the back of their existing photo-card driving licence free of charge. They may obtain the endorsement sticker at Traffic Police HQ if the sticker has been detached from your QDL or is defaced/ torn. The new endorsement sticker is also free of charge.

Qualified Driving Licence Replacement

Singapore citizens and permanent residents can apply to replace their lost or damaged QDL online, while none Singaporean or permanent resident will apply in person at Traffic Police Headquarters. A fee of $25 applies; the receipt serves as your temporary driving licence. Your replacement QDL will be mailed to you within 7 working days upon successful application. Your existing photograph in Traffic Police’s database will be retrieved and printed on your replacement QDL.

Any person guilty of using any threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour which results in harassment, alarm or distress shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 under the Protection from Harassment Act 2014.

SSDC may terminate or suspend the Learner’s enrolment with SSDC at any time at SSDC’s sole discretion if the Learner is in material breach of the Terms & Condition and/or display unreasonable or abusive behavior towards SSDC’s instructors and/ staff.
