Class 3 – Manual Transmission (Honda City)

Motor cars =<3000 kg with =<7 passengers, exclusive of the driver and Motor Tractors/Vehicles =<2500 kg.

Class 3A – Auto Transmission (Honda City)

Motor cars without clutch pedals =<3000 kg with =<7 passengers, exclusive of the driver and Motor Tractors/Vehicles without clutch pedals =<2500 kg.

  • The class 3/3a driving course is valid for 1 year from the date of enrolment.
  • All students (70 years of age and below) will be insured with a personal accident insurance for a period of 1 year (non – renewable).
Enrolment Prerequisite
  • 18 years old and above (based on date of birth).
  • Enrol in person or online.
  • Pass both eyesight and colour blindness test at our service counter.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • Must not accumulate more than 12 demerit points under the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS).
  • Must not have any class (es) of Qualified Driving Licence / Provisional Driving Licence under revocation, disqualification or suspension.
Enrolment Document (In Person)
  • Valid Singapore NRIC/Passport.
  • Valid Work Permit, S Pass, EP or other FIN Card  (Foreigners).
Online Enrolment
  • Online enrolment is subject to approval after meeting all the prerequisites. Students are required to produce original documents for verification.
  • Once enrolled, you are require to attend course briefing at designated timings 9.30am, 2.30pm & 5pm, complete eyesight test & photo-taking.

Important Note
  • If you have any serious traffic offences pending against you, you are advised not to apply for a licence. This is because if you are eventually disqualified by court from holding or obtaining a driving licence, the disqualification could be for all classes of driving licence including any newly acquired licence.
  • If you have been awarded more than 12 demerit points, or have cases pending against you which will make you liable to be awarded a total of more than 12 demerit points, you will not be allowed to take a theory and practical driving test.
  • New driver who has two cases of not displaying distinguishing mark (triangular sign) against them, whether the cases are concluded or otherwise, will not be allowed to take a theory and practical driving test.
  • For conversion case, if you have been issued a new identification number (from FIN to NRIC) before or after you have booked a test date, you are required to update the changes with the Traffic Police Testing Section and the driving school before the test date. Otherwise you will be disqualified from taking your test.

Remarks
  • All fees are inclusive of GST.

e-Learning

Theory Trial Test
  • The Computerised Theory Trial Test (TTT) is our mock test to evaluate whether students are ready to sit for the actual Traffic Police theory test.
  • For each TTT session, students can select either Practice Mode or Test Mode. Changing of mode during the session is not allowed.
  • Booking of TTT is required and can be made online. Each session costs $5.40
  • Each student can hold a maximum of 4 valid TTT bookings at any one time. Students are encouraged to attend at least two TTT (Practice mode) and must pass the TTT (Test mode) before they are allowed to book the Traffic Police Basic/Final Theory Test.
  • It is important to have enough TTT practice before attempting the Traffic Police theory test as the waiting period for a retest could be up to two months.
  • TTT passed result is valid for 30 days. Students need to book for the Traffic Police theory test before the TTT passed result expires.
  • Students may be required to produce a booking receipt when attending the TTT Classroom at Level 4.
  • No refund of fees if you are absent for your TTT due to any reason whatsoever.
Traffic Police Theory Test
  • Please be punctual and report to the Theory Test Room (SSDC Woodlands Level 1) 15 minutes prior to your theory test start time.
  • When attending the Traffic Police theory test, students must produce a valid Singapore NRIC or Passport. Foreigners must produce a valid FIN Card.
  • No refund for cancellation of Traffic Police theory test.
  • No multiple bookings of test date across any test centres is allowed. Any multiple bookings of test will be cancelled and no refund of fees will be made.
  • The Basic Theory Test (BTT) result does not have any expiry date unless your Qualified Driving Licence (QDL) has been revoked. Upon passing your BTT, students can apply for a Class 3 Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) at the Traffic Police website and then start to book the practical lesson.
  • The Final Theory Test (FTT) result is valid for two years from the date of passing. Students need to book the Traffic Police Practical Test before their FTT expires.

Basic and Final Driving Theory Handbooks are now available in 4 languages (English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil) from Traffic Police’s Online Learning Portal.

  3. Select “Basic and Final Driving Theory Handbooks” and your preferred language.
  4. Start learning the pdf versions of the handbooks.
Simulator Lesson
  • Students must complete simulator lesson Module 1 to 3.
  • Each lesson consists of one (1) module and last about 20 minutes.
  • Lesson is available in English and will be conducted at Level 4, Simulator Room B & C.
  • You can start to book your simulator lesson after you have completed Subject 8 of the training programme. Each booking must be 1 day (24 hours) interval.
  • Please be punctual. Latecomers are considered absent and are required to rebook the lesson.
  • Change of car transmission model i.e. from manual transmission to automatic transmission or vice versa, student must retake all the 3 Modules.
Situational Based Simulator Lesson
  • Students must complete Situational Based Simulator Lesson.
  • Each lesson consists of three (3) modules and lasts about 50 minutes.
  • Lesson is available in English, Mandarin, Malay, Tamil and Bengali, and will be conducted at Level 4 Simulator Room C
  • You can start to book your Situational-Based Simulator (SBS) after you have completed Subject 5 of the training programme.
Important Note
  • Please be punctual. If you are late and unable to complete the lesson, you are required to repeat the lesson.
  • Online cancellation or over the counter is allowed at least 48 hours before the scheduled time. If the lessons fall the day after a Public Holiday or SSDC rest day, cancellation must be completed at least 72 hours a day after a Public Holiday or SSDC rest day, cancellation must be completed at least 72 before the scheduled time.
  • If you are not feeling well during the simulator lesson you may seek assistance from the staff in duty.
  • If you are not feeling well during the simulator lesson you may seek assistance from the staff in duty.
  • Pregnant students are required to produce a letter of certification from their doctor/gynaecologist stating that they are FIT to attend the simulator lesson. The letter is to be submitted to the instructor before lesson begins.

 

Practical Lesson
  • The validity of your Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) must be updated in our system before you can book your practical driving lesson online.
  • The duration of each practical lesson is 100 minutes.
  • Students may be required to attend an average of 20 to 25 sessions of practical lessons to complete the driving course.
  • Students are required to attend more practical lessons if the minimum standard has not been met.
  • Students can book for a fixed instructor to coach them. A fixed instructor surcharge of S$8.72 per session will be charged for each booking. In the event that the fixed instructor is not allocated for their practical lesson, the student will continue their practical lesson with another instructor and the surcharge will be refunded back to the student balance.
  • Students are required to bring along your student training record booklet for every practical lesson. A valid Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) must be produced for every practical lesson. No training or refund is allowed if students are unable to produce a valid PDL.
  • Students must complete all 3 simulator modules, all theory lessons, pass a Traffic Police Final Theory Test (FTT), possess a valid Provisional Driving Licence (PDL) and complete the final practical assessment before they are allowed to book for the Traffic Police Practical Test.
  • Cancellation of practical lesson appointments can be made online. It must be made at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time. If your practical driving lesson falls on the day after a Public Holiday or SSDC rest day, cancellation must be made at least 96 hours in advance.
  • For any cancellation less than 72 hours prior to lesson start time, students will have the option to put up the slot for try sell. If the try sell is successful, the practical lesson will be cancelled and refunded back to the student balance. If the try sell is unsuccessful, students are required to attend the practical lesson.
  • Medical certificate will not be accepted for refund or late cancellation of lesson.
  • Pregnant students are required to produce a letter of certification from their doctor/gynaecologist stating that they are FIT to attend practical training including emergency brake. Please bring along the letter of certification from the doctor/gynaecologist on every practical lesson.
  • No Cancellation/Trysell of Public Holiday Practical Lesson is allowed.
Practical Test
  • Students are encouraged to attend revision practical lessons before their practical test.
  • When attending Traffic Police Practical Test, students must produce a valid Singapore NRIC or Passport, a valid Provisional Driving Licence (PDL), students training record booklet and Practical Test payment receipt. Foreigners must produce a valid FIN Card such as Work Permit, S Pass etc.
  • All practical tests are conducted at SSDC Woodlands Circuit.
  • Please be punctual. Late comers will not be allowed to sit for their practical test.
  • No multiple bookings of test date across any test centres is allowed. Any multiple bookings of test will be cancelled and students will be disqualified from the Traffic Police Practical Test.
  • There will be NO REFUND of test fees (inclusive of vehicle rental and warming up fees) for absence or cancellation of Traffic Police Test date due to any reason whatsoever.
  • Pregnant students are required to produce a letter of certification from their doctor/gynaecologist stating that they are FIT to attend the practical lesson and practical test including emergency brake. Please bring along the most recent letter of certification to the Traffic Police Department on the day of practical test.
  • For the safety of test candidates and other circuit / road users, all practical driving / riding tests will be discontinued in the event that the test candidate:
    1. Accumulates 20 or more demerit points or;
    2. Commits an immediate failure checklist item (e.g. mounting of kerb).

Digital Photograph

A designated photo booth at SSDC, level 3, will be used to capture your digital photograph; this digital photograph will be printed on your QDL. A fee of S$6.48 is payable for the digital photograph-taking service.

Qualified Driving Licence (QDL) Application

Upon passing your practical test, all Singapore citizens, permanent residents, and foreigners holding valid work passes issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) or Student/ Long-Term Visit passes issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) can apply for a new QDL online via Police Website or the Police@SG mobile application.

The application fee for the new QDL is S$50, payment by eNETS or credit card. The licence card will be mailed to you within 7 working days upon successful application.

Additional Class of Licence

Existing QDL holders do not need to apply for a new QDL when they pass another class of driving test; the Driving Tester will affix an endorsement sticker to the back of their existing photo-card driving licence free of charge. They may obtain the endorsement sticker at Traffic Police HQ if the sticker has been detached from your QDL or is defaced/ torn. The new endorsement sticker is also free of charge.

Qualified Driving Licence Replacement

Singapore citizens and permanent residents may apply to replace their lost or damaged QDL online, while none Singaporean or permanent resident will apply in person at Traffic Police Headquarters. A fee of $25 applies; the receipt serves as your temporary driving licence. Your replacement QDL will be mailed to you within 7 working days upon successful application. Your existing photograph in Traffic Police’s database will be retrieved and printed on your replacement QDL.

Our staff have the right to work in a safe environment like everyone else.

Any person guilty of using any threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour which results in harassment, alarm or distress shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 under the Protection from Harassment Act 2014.

SSDC may terminate or suspend the Learner’s enrolment with SSDC at any time at SSDC’s sole discretion if the Learner is in material breach of the Terms & Condition and/or display unreasonable or abusive behavior towards SSDC’s instructors and/ staff.
